So beautiful, Steve! Sad and beautiful... Looks like a funeral pyre. I had an idea of shooting funerals in India. I was fascinated by the sad beauty of men's final exit from this world.
Ah Greg, that's right, the pyre. Strong stuff, the end -or release into... to stand there and hold in one's hand those cinders which once had been a loved and cherished being. Another SWPC photographer, Tameka used a mummy for her image, but we others also used her mummy for our own versions. I'd thought of this pyre idea for awhile, and the mummy seemed like a good opportunity to use that.
Steve, I like the word 'release'. Could be a great title for this picture. The more I look at it the more I feel its power. This is definitely an exhibition-grade work, Steve!
